Review of John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) by Daniel C — 04 Mar 2017

I loved the first John Wick for its style, its pace, and its surprisingly good story. This second film does everything that worked well in the first movie, but bigger and better! This storyline was very good, a solid foundation for the action that took place.

In an action movie, you watch for the choreography and the set pieces, but John Wick: Chapter 2's story enhanced the action and made it more than just mindless bloodshed and explosions. The cinematography in this film surpasses the original's and puts you in the action to create compelling scenes to give you the adrenaline rush you crave when you watch a film like this.

This sequel did what a sequel should do; it replicated what worked for its first film while going bigger and bolder where it needed to in order to keep things interesting for the audience. Overall, I thought this was an action film very well done, and I'm excited to see what's in store for John Wick in Chapter 3!
