Review of John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) by Jay F — 09 Aug 2017
Where to begin?
The first version of this made so much sense, the sequel is just senseless by comparison.
If nobody in the hitman universe breaks ever these rules, then why do we have to have such an obvious redo on the first movie (Russian and the car and the dog - again?!? WTF?!), all to have some dumb plotline scandalously create some dumb drama behind the mafioso wife and family in Italy and the code broken . . . yawn.
When Laurence Fishburne joins in with his homeless hit squad the empty plot backbone is revealed, and the Matrix reunion is supposed to invoke some cloak and dagger rebellion feelings that just simply are weak, and not there.
Summary: A bad story gets created in order to have another 2 hour shootfest movie that pales compared to its predecessor, even when relying on the formers storyline all-too-often.
