Review of John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) by Ryan H — 27 Jun 2017
Thrilling, intense (like camping), and gleefully violent, John Wick: Chapter 2 somehow manages the nearly impossible task of being even better than the first film. Keanu Reeves delivers an Oscar-worthy performance in an action film that could rival The Matrix.
Ruby Rose delivers a silent but equally Oscar-worthy performance as the mute security enforcer Ares. Additionally, the action is every bit as good as the original, if not better. The script is expertly written and there isn't a single bad performance.
Best of all, like the first John Wick, Chapter 2 tells its own self-contained story while simultaneously setting up the possibility of more sequels down the road, and I can't wait.
