Review of John Wick (2014) by Jacob N — 19 Jun 2017
I just saw John Wick for the first time. I am impressed at how much similarity there is with classic Japanese Samurai culture. We see a guild-like organization of assassins much like the Ninja. The story line is very Japanese.
The master samurai has left the service of his lord to become a Ronin, unemployed samurai. He is dis-honored by a young prince in the lord's family. He seeks justice in strict adherence to a code of honor.
