There have been so many mindless action movies on the silver screen that they all start to become a blur but when one manages to stand out from the rabble of cgi explosions and shaky cam fight scenes it really is a joy to watch.
John Wick has a simple but effective premise, the last thing he really cared about is taken from him so he goes back to his killing ways to hunt down the men who did it. The action is superb, slick and streamlined with minimal CGI, cuts and Keanu Reeves doing a large amount of the fighting himself.
Due to this the action has a real weight to it and makes his vengeance that much sweeter. Keanu Reeves is back in his element as the taciturn action star we came to love in The Matrix.
