Review of John Q (2002) by Daniel L — 21 Feb 2009
This is one of those movies so unrealistic at times, it made it hard for me to appreciate the decent acting. First and foremost, what hospital emergency room is so dead in the middle of the day in a large city? There were less than 10 patients waiting there.
And what happened to the people who were being treated already? You've got to be kidding me. And all of the goofy stuff with the police feed and the sniper didn't make it any better. The whole plot is just way too out there.
Plus, they're banging us over the head with politics. I can't wait to see who has the guts to make the movie about the kid who can't get a particular type of treatment because the country with nationalized health care has decided it's not good for them.
