Review of John Q (2002) by Nisreen S — 05 Jun 2011
As a fifteen year old , I honestly don't understand how critics can claim this movie to be mediocre. Any movie that can teach me something important and not to mention make me cry twice , deserves the highest quality award.
Maybe movies are just made for entertainment , but a movie that can give us all something to use in the future , insight on how the world is really run or show us the lengths some people will go to in order to save their loved ones , is a movie of the highest caliber.
Its sad that critics cant walk into a movie theatre and not try their best to find something wrong with the movie , they've watched so many movies before that its impossible for them not to be somewhat irritated while they watch it , which very much influences their reviews of any movie at all because they were too distracted with their own problems that they couldn't learn the true meaning behind the movie.
This is why I don't believe in criticism , for such a great movie to be so judged so carelessly is wrong because these reviews influence others to watch the movie or not , and this movie is definitely worth the money , time and effort to learn from it .
As far as critics reviewing films , its a very flawed system and as far as this movie goes , a great movie that will have you in tears about its story and leave you thinking about how the world really is , and that in most cases its only your family , who are your friends.
