Some reviews really lowered my expectations. I'm overrating this by about a half-star in a feeble attempt to correct the unfair score it has been given. Adapting the book was not a practical idea, and the special effects budget was clearly low. But it tries to make up for that in casting, plus you get to actually hear "Camel Holocaust". You're going to have to give and take a little bit.
But it could have been done better, no doubt. I'd love to see this get a go as a TV mini-series. The Vegas scene needs to be put on film.
