I thought the movie was good, although there were times I was having trouble keeping up with the different names. I also still feel that Disney shot itself in the foot removing the "of Mars" from the title.

As it is, I'm now curious enough to want to read the book series.

Now having watched the movie a second time, I still remain enthralled. The money loss I would rather attribute to Disney's pension to put all the efforts in 3D tech in the end credits, rather than investing in the movie itself. You reap what you sow Disney, and you need to wise up fast.
