I was afraid to see this one for all the bad reviews. But having not read the books and no idea what was going on, I enjoyed the movie. Sure, my suspension of disbelief was shattered many times, but that is the fun of a science fiction movie compared to just fiction.
Could it be better?, absolutely, but it was still a great adventure film. If you are looking for John Carter the book, like anything Hollywood does, you will not like it. To be fair, it's hard to capture a novel in 2 hours.
