If you overlooked this movie because it was labeled "romantic comedy", and because of the two leads cheesy history in this genre, I encourage you to give it another try. The script is brilliant if you are willing to accept the cartoon goofiness that it is intentionally housed in.
It is a thoughtfully crafted fairy tale: full of powerful symbols & metaphors if you are willing to look for the insightful commentary hidden within them.
