Review of Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten (2007) by Tristan F — 12 Oct 2007
Sure, when Bono pops up in this excellent documentary, it is incredibly annoying with his caricutured, sun-glasses wearing visage and pretensious statements about music and politics, but at least, he gets to tell a story about seeing The Clash as his first gig, which gives him some connection to the man.
But fucking why does Johnny Depp have to be in it? And in the Pirates of the Carribean gear, no less? I guess they rushed him over from the set, and popped him down in front of a campfire so he can talk like Hunter S Thompson.
Anyway, aside from that strange piece of business, a really informative portrait about a great man.
