Review of Joe Macbeth (1955) by Jay N — 22 Nov 2011
Unimaginativly directed but expertly acted update of the Shakespeare tragedy. Douglas is fine as always as the tormented and henpecked central character but it is really Ruth Roman who stands out from the rest of the cast.
She literally oozes malevolence from every pore in a great study of a remorseless, to a point, rapacious viper. This is a hard to find item that is worth a view. Grab the chance if you can.
