The story of the DUNE movie that never was. It is first and foremost a portrait of how wrong it's possible to go when creative juices are allowed to flow unfettered. Fascinating in the same way that it would be to watch a train wreck in slow motion.
While the movie posits the theory that this is the DUNE that "should" have been... I'm not entirely convinced that it would have been any less of a hot mess than the David Lynch version that was actually made in 1984. Makes for a compelling documentary though. If you like docs, then you should check this out.
