Review of Jodhaa Akbar (2008) by Adarsh B — 14 Sep 2008
I LOVE this movie! The first thing that I think should be pointed out that even though the movie is +4 hours long (included the deleted scenes) but if you can get into movies the way I do, the film seems to last for about an hour and a half.
Hrithik and Aishwarya were great in there roles. Unlike Om Shanti Om, Jodhaa Akbar does not rely on celebrities and borrowing aspects of what worked in older films to make it a hit.
Gowariker is a visionary director who doesn't let his film be cluttered by shiny stuff. His film is made with atmosphere and suspense.
For a non- Bollywood go-er, I would recommend this film as there first. I wouldn't ever consider this a Bollwood movie, but an International film.
Ok, final thought. If you have an interest in good films or film making, have an attention span greater then and hour and you don't complain ever 5 minutes about everything around you, I recommend you watch this movie!
