Review of Jodhaa Akbar (2008) by Sufi O — 28 Feb 2011

I couldn't make it through this movie. I watch Bollywood movies. I watched and rather enjoyed Lagaan, so I gave this one a try. It has the Dhoom 2 couple. It was epic. And it's a sweeping story. And it bores and drags. I know Bollywood movies are typically longer than US movies, but this didn't even really seem to pack story into the minutes.

There weren't any real dance scenes in what I saw, only singing - that I didn't really find appealing. The movie starts with an epic action scene. Not epic with the fighting, but epic in that there are a lot of people fighting. And then it lingers and lingers. It's an hour before you really get the two leads together. And it's another 20 minutes until I have to stop watching.
