Review of Jodhaa Akbar (2008) by Jayakrishnan R — 05 Apr 2013
85%.
Jodhaa Akbar is a cult classic made in the recent past. The film was heavily criticized prior to its release from my local activists, religious fools and some historians. They claimed that the film leaves the Rajputs in a bad light and some people claiming that Jodhaa was not even Akbar' wife. This mass activity resulted in the film being banned over more than 5 states in India, but yet the film was a major box-office success in the year 2007. I admit that the film is too long and sometimes boring, but in the end it turns out to be such that it gives a content feeling on the viewers. The action scenes, the set pieces, acting and cinematography are really good.
