Review of Jobs (2013) by Jeramie K — 23 Oct 2013
Ashton Kutcher may have the walk, talk, and look down to a science, but what he lacked was exponentially more vital -- the soul.
No film regarding an enigmatic, innovative, and polarizing figure such as Steve Jobs should come out this flat.
It's dreary, expected, and flat out boring. The film and Kutcher himself try so desperately to convince you that this film is worth the money that was spent creating it. Unfortunately, they were unable to accomplish that goal through 2 hours of run time.
Steve Jobs, regardless of personal opinion, was a larger than life individual. He, in and of himself, was a character of sorts. Yet, Kutcher fails to truly bring the man alive. The hair, the mannerisms, the voice patterns... It only takes the movie so far before the cracks begin to grow and level the film into the rubble that is simply an uninteresting mess.
