Review of Jobs (2013) by Darius B — 05 Jan 2014
Jobs a biographical drama film focused on Steve Jobs life between the events of 1974 and 2001 when he was introducing the Ipod at a meeting. It sounds like a great idea of having a film about Steve Jobs and his struggles. In the final results, it also feels like it did not even need one.
The story focuses on Steve Jobs from the events of 1974 when he dropped out of Reed College. Then, the events of him and his buddy building the first personal computer known as Apple. Until, Jobs has created and change technology from computers to the ipod.
The movie was a semi good idea of exploring on Steve Jobs. Although, the movie was rushed with decades of events. It flows from event to another; sure it may leave out most of the details and characterization. It just does not succeed in delivering the emotions and developed characters.
Ashton Kutcher actually did a fairly okay job with the performance as Steve Jobs. Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Lukas Haas, and J.K. Simmons were all decent with their roles.
Jobs is still a fair biographical drama film, it just does not leave any room for any more important development that would have filled the missing pieces to being better.
