A super personal, no holds barred, kind of heartbreaking look at a year in the career of Joan Rivers. She's on a constant search for gigs of all kinds. She's insecure. She's honest. I admit I had a lump in my throat at times during this film, because show business is brutal and seeing how Joan and her daughter live in that world - it's rough.
