Review of Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work (2010) by Joshua C — 08 Jan 2011
Probably one of the most controversial and entertaining films of last year.
I'm not such a huge fan of Joan Rivers, I never really cared for her, I saw her on Celebrity Apprentice, and she won that, I see her on the Red Carpet all the time with Melissa and too me on the screen looked like a Plastic Surgery freak and nothing really else, I was kind of wrong.
I'm not here to tell you my view on her, I'm here to review the documentary itself, and the filmmakers actually did a splendid job, they really have their shots right, they make the emotion seem really emotional and the comedy just right. The real star is Joan Rivers and I'm a real sucker for Documentary's convincing me of things such as "An Inconvenient Truth" or "March of the Penguins", but this really didn't make me like her personality, but as a hard worker to get loved by the crowd once again, Joan mentions a lot of stories about her past and the way she got coming up to now, it's really fascinating because it's more about the business then anything else, it shows a more powerful woman just grasping to get out and go on top once again, and I believed it honestly.
It's very watchable, especially if your a big fan of her's, go find your way to see it, it's a great movie!
