Review of Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work (2010) by Michael N — 15 Jan 2011
A fascinating look into the life of someone who can only be called a comedy legend! At the risk of sounding REALLY sexist, she is about the only female comic who makes me laugh. The film follows her for a year, including her stint on Celebrity Apprentice.
Everything in the film is great, what a life this woman has led. But by far the bravest part is the opening montage, where we get to see the woman without her trademark make-up. Very brave and very telling, as the woman lets us, the viewers, know that we will be getting the truth and nothing but on this journey.
A great view highly recommended.
