Review of Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work (2010) by Michelle R — 23 Apr 2011
Fascinating. Many people say that Rivers is misunderstood - totally not. This is a woman who knew the talent she had and used it to get to where she is - and some more. To have that sort of work ethic at her age .
.. what can anyone say? She is brash and in-your-face - as Rivers said, she loves her lifestyle and to maintain it she has to work. I can honestly say, from the moment Melissa Rivers, her daughter chose to enter entertainment, I had pity for her - that is evident - must be tough having a mother who is The Joan Rivers.
But like all tough people, it is but a facade - we are, even with plastic surgery, still inescapably human on the inside.
