Review of Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011) by Jason M — 11 Apr 2012
Clearly I loved this movie as I love any documentary about the restaurant business. But there was more to it other than sushi, which by the way was amazing! PASSION! Jiro was tireless and relentless in his passion for his restaurant and work. It trickled down to so much in his life, his sons, his guests in his restaurant, purveyors, etc. Who cares what you do for a living or how you live life, just do so with PASSION! The subtle insights into Japanese culture were fascinating as well.
And yes, my mouth was watering the entire time during this movie, the sushi was mind-blowing. And no appetizers, starters, salads, soups, beer, wine, sake, etc., just sushi at Jiro's, amazing sushi! See this movie while it's in Denver at The Mayan or around the country as it opens.
