Review of Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011) by Tyler B — 25 Sep 2012
Greatest. Documentary. Ever. Bar none. The way David Gelb works a compelling narrative that seamlessly leads from the (not so) simple act of preparing sushi to the mechanisms of a patriarchal society through the interactions of a father and son (and even managing to work in some environmental awareness for good measure), is nothing less than sublime.
A must-watch for anyone who not only loves documentaries, but great cinema in general.
