Review of Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011) by Hiroyuki Y — 31 Oct 2012
Great documentary of a Japanese aesthetic. Sushi is now popular in all over the world, but the life of Shokunin (The Expert) has not been shown to the public. Shokunins tend to be or are thought to be very stubborn, but in this movie, Jiro talks a lot and smiles a lot.
In Japanese culture, Aesthetics are called "Michi" which means "a way". This documentary succeeded to grab it out and express with beautiful musics and the cinematography. I admire Mr.
Jiro and the director David Gelb they let me observe our culture positively and beautifully again as a Japanese citizen. Obviously Great movie.
