Review of Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011) by Khuong D — 31 Jan 2013
Intimate look at an incredible man who is the best at what he does, yet always wants to be better. Jiro is a very single minded individual, he thinks about Sushi so much, that he has little time for anything else, including his family, yet his sons have stuck by him and spent their entire lives working under him.
The movie itself is pretty simple, and I wish it went a little more into the details of the family history, especially about how he ever found a wife when he worked as long as he did, but overall it is a one of a kind look at a master at work, meticulously making each piece of Sushi as a piece of art all by itself, yet it still has not made me want to try it, but man does it look pretty.
