Review of Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011) by Aaron G — 18 Sep 2013
I didn't have an opportunity to see this documentary last year and it is shame I didn't although I would have drove straight to a sushi bar and fill up. Jiro Ono is the best in the business. He sets his price and people pay-they set reservations months in advance and have a set time to eat and leave for the next party.
I looked over to my girlfriend in excitement over the execution of not only the film but the sheer perfection he holds in his bar with his older son and apprentices. Director David Gelb serves a reflective tale of how Jiro started at a young age and how he manages to stay in top form at 85 years.
If you are a fan of documentaries and love sushi...you owe to yourself to see this film.
