Review of Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011) by Kevin C — 30 Dec 2013
The method of creating delicious sushi and the final product are elegant, but it is the issue of respect, honour and inheritance within the food industry that is of great consequence. How do Jiro's sons succeed a father so famous? How can raise a level that has been raised beyond every standard? This documentary is fascinating not only for food aficionados, but social and culturally the workings of a family and their relelvance within a precarious aspect of the food industry.
Fantastic. First time rating: 9.5/10.
