Review of Jingle All the Way (1996) by Sean S — 25 Mar 2014
One can only guess who thought to put Arnold Schwarzenegger in a family film as a father, already on thin ice with his family, who goes to great lengths to find the popular, sold-out toy his son wants most for Christmas.
It's easy to see that the film was produced in a rush as the film itself feels frenetic, and not just because of the pace Howard (Schwarzenegger) runs around at. All in all, it's an all too convenient series of events that wraps up in a neat little package at the end; the father redeems himself to his wife, and the kid gets what he wants but learns to be selfless.
It's not without some humourous moments, but like the Turbo-Man suit Howard wears at the end, it's all a little too artificial.
