Review of Jindabyne (2006) by Anne K — 09 Jun 2007
What was the point of the children killing the animals? Why was their suspenseful music when he was staring at a telephone wire, and why was there creepy music when the boy seemed like he was going to drown? Some of the things in this movie just didn't make sense.
It was good though how the men didn't handle a situation well and the women were trying to make up for it, and it was extremely fun to watch laura linney get wound up more and more through the movie, but it was choppy and so many of the scenes were unnecessary.
Prejudice against the aboriginals in Australia is obviously the main point, but the characters used this girls death to lash out at eachother. It seemed like at the end, there were so many questions left unanswered.
Definitely not a bad movie, just in dire need of some editing!!
