Review of Jindabyne (2006) by Nickie L — 16 Dec 2007
Great concept, but Raymond Carver gets the credit for that. Otherwise, fairly slow moving, and annoying use of tribal wails to denote spooky goings on. The dilemma at the centre of it is interesting - finding a body and not reporting it straight away doesn't make the person any less dead, though it is a bit odd.
essentially, the film ignores the girl's body in the same way that the four fishermen do - seems like that girl only died to highlight the flaws in a complicated white marriage. I'm sure she'd be thrilled.
