Review of Jindabyne (2006) by Richard P — 10 Aug 2009
I should have guessed this film would be slow paced, as it's about a group of Australian fishermen... There is some marital strife for one particular couple (Gabriel Byrne and Laura Linney). Gabriel's character was a complete arsehole and I had all my sympathies with Laura Linney's character.
Mind you, going off fishing, would result in divorce proceedings in my household, so what could Gabriel expect? He merrily waltz's off for a weekend's fishing with his mates, discovers a dead body, but decides not to report it to the police, because it would ruin his chance of catching a big fish ?!?! Disappointing ending though.
