To be blunt, this is one sad film. Everything about it is dark, subdued, and oversaturated with a depressing sadness and brutality. That being said, it's also a visually beautiful film with a deep, tragic story, and a hauntingly beautiful score.
In the realm of adult cartoons, this one has few, if any, peers.
