Review of Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade (1999) by Julian G — 20 Sep 2007
This is anime' at its best, despite however bad that may sound. This film, unlike most of other films in its category, keeps an audience compelled throughout it's entire 100 minute span with a surprisingly engaging animation and storyline.
Jin-Roh:The Wolf Brigade is further proof why the asian filmmakers have it going on in that they don't just make a good story, they create it piece by piece until it's perfect in their artistic dimension.
Jin-Roh, at the same time, also reminds us why animated films are around in the first place, reminding us how violent yet how powerful and emotional an animated film can be. I haven't seen a movie this good since OLDBOY, seriously!
