Review of Jigsaw (2017) by Brandon W — 26 Oct 2017
The film overall was a great treat. Of course, as with any Saw film, it had its flaws.
THE GOOD: The film was pretty well paced. It got to the point, and had no filler (contrary to the disaster that was Saw V). The traps were amazing and fresh, and the gore has the potential to make you squirm, a first for me since Saw IV. For the story, no Saw film beats the first three films, but this story wasn't all that bad. Obviously, no one's trying to win an Oscars, so don't expect a massive dramatic plot with character development. However, do expect a shitload of twists and turns.
THE BAD: For some, the film may move a bit too fast, but that's for you to decide. The one really bad issue for me was the ending. I won't spoil anything, but I'll say this: for newcomers of the series, you're in for one hell of a plot twist ending. For veterans of the series, not so much.
