Review of JFK (1991) by Mike H — 31 Jul 2010
One of Stone's most captivating works. While I'd like to stand behind the speculation he presents here, Stone's past performance as a historian is so outlandish and one-sided that it's much more probable that he's the Alex Jones of the left. But for once, an Oliver Stone production looks like there was some professional thought put into it -- the film transfer looks beautiful, the editing is organized, and the actors all have their hearts in it.
I don't have the knowledge to discredit Stone's allegations. This is a piece of American history about which I remain confused. He puts up a strong case, and if he hadn't established himself as a Michael Moore type in every other film he had done ever, I would be inclined to praise this work as being at least partially factual. At the very least, it outraged the anti-interventionist in me.
