Review of JFK (1991) by Heressssss J — 09 Sep 2010
JFK is a political thriller directed by Oliver Stone, and stars an all star cast such as Kevin Costner, Joe Pesci, Tommy Lee Jones, Sissy Spacek, Michael Rooker, John Candy, and Donald Sutherland.
JFK is about District Attorney Jim Garrison, who begins to investigate the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and the chance of a government conspiracy. Garrison finds many clues and gets closer to the answer he is seeking, but all the while he is putting his career at risk and creating tension in his family.
I was really surprised to find how much I liked JFK, even though I find the study of Kennedy's life quite interesting. JFK sucked me right into the story, and kept me interested throughout its 3 and a half hour runtime. I was also very impressed with the films stellar cast and their performances, which bolstered JFK to being a better than average political thriller. I loved John William's musical score as well, which when played, put a sense of hope and justice into the films atmosphere.
JFK overall is a brilliantly filmed political drama with a awesome cast, great acting, an uplifting soundtrack, and a interesting yet flawed plot. I highly recommend this film to everybody!
