Review of JFK (1991) by Alvin T — 27 Aug 2011
One of the most controversial movie that you'll ever see. This could be one of the most defining movie of the 90s. The source material is always appealing, when it involves one of the greatest unsolved mysterious in history.
Oliver Stone also gives a good smack in the gov's faces, when he introduces a militant who gives his view about the white house involvement of JFK's assassination. And the movie succeeds beautifully in recreating the horror that happen on 22 November 1963.
Stone also succeeds in shoving the Warren commission up whoever's ass it is, by revealing the probable conspiracy behind the assassination. John Williams's eerie and suspenseful ( and has a military flavour in it) score, builds the important bits to the movie, and allows it to soar.
Costner's speech at the climax may have drop the bomb on the white house, but it is ever so real and poignant, that every countrymen will question what happen on that faithful day and their own govs.
And the films also succeeds in engaging the audience to use their intelligence, and to raise fears among the audience. And the beauty of this film is it never tell you, who assassinated JFK, it leaves it all to you.
