Review of JFK (1991) by Nolan M — 24 Apr 2015
Overall a fairly compelling narrative on the assassination of President Kennedy. The rational laid out for it is tangible and the different storylines of characters comes together very well. Without knowing what has been established or discovered and put forth of the actual circumstances, this film flows like a very believable telling of this societal shattering piece of history. This is what makes it a great film. It is a very gripping movie with an amazing cast giving some great performances to help tell the tale.
The legal closing arguments of Costner's character seemed really over the top, as it is incredibly unlikely that any attorney can deliver such a lengthy and consistently "inspirational" speech perfectly citing different great thinkers. Almost felt like a cheesy Spielberg piece.
On the whole, it is a great film even at 3 hours long and for me 24 years after its release.
