Review of JFK (1991) by Grant L — 16 Jun 2010
A film that I had very high expectations for and on some points it did deliever and some points it didn't. After watching this almost 3 and a half hour long suspense thriller I have to say its one of the best thrillers i've seen because of its way to keep you guessing and keep you thinking which I love to do when im watching a film.
And the acting was great ranging from all kinds of actors but mainly I give credit to Costner and Tommy Lee Jones who were both great all the way through the film and I thought Costner derserved a rare Best Actor nomination but I was glad to see Tommy Lee Jones got one for Supporting Actor.
The story was great as well and made us think what kind of a world we liveed in then and still do now but the biggest problem I have with the story/screenplay is the talking their was way too much talking in this film and especially the last court scene with Costner talking for almost half an hour and doing that will ake the film and the ending drag and drag some more.
But I give credit to Oliver Stone who I have always thought has been a great director and this was one of his best but nowhere near Platoon or Born On The Fourth Of July or even Midnight Express but this film was good but its flaws defintley show.
Good film. 80%.
