Stone's take on the event that broke the back of the American century is paranoid A-list fun (Lou Grant's smackdown of Jack Lemmon! Pesci does Ferrie! Senator Matthau aids & abets the conspiracy! Tom L Jones's du jour hamming on the money!) There's no last word for those six seconds of heat & light on 11/23/63, but JFK has a lot of fun trying, and Stone revels in stirring the p(l)ot.
