Review of Jezebel (1938) by Darren S — 11 Apr 2008
I haven't seen Gone With the Wind, so I won't compare the two.
Davis' characters, like herself, always stood outside the finely cut mould of what it meant to be a woman. No less true for her Oscar-winning performance in Jezebel, where she is both Magdalene and Mary.
Henry Fonda was hotter than a summer New Orleans day.
