Review of Jezebel (1938) by Sophina . — 10 Aug 2007
This movie was made back in 1938, a Southern Belle named Julie [Bette Davis] who is both scandalous and spiteful towards her fiance Preston [Henry Fonda]. The tables are turned when Preston decides to call off the engagement and leave town without her, returning a year later with his new wife Amy [Margaret Lindsay] Preston is then taken with Yellow Fever and to redeem herself in everyones eyes Julie begs Amy to go in her place to 'Lepers Island'.
Such a moving story relating to the up holding of tradition and maintaining a high degree of honor.
