Review of Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) by Júnior D — 07 Mar 2012
This movie is a icon, the idea, the songs and its lyrics, Neeley and Anderson singing and playing absurdly well. Boldness in the scenarios and the interpretation of the last weeks of Christ's life is something that leaves aside the mysticism, peeling the figure of Jesus while show him as a revolutionary facing a political system. The film's premise is clear already on the first song of Judas:
"And all the good you've done, will soon get swept away.
You've begun to matter more, than the things you say.".
