Review of Jesus Camp (2006) by Jay N — 19 Jan 2009
This documentary scared the shit out of me. I dislike Evangelical Christians even more so. My personal beef originated when I'd be shopping at the mall and getting stopped in my tracks to force me to say "I believe in Jesus", at age 15.
No exaggeration, I had a friend with me during the experience. This is simply wrong. Evangelical preachers are brain washing young children to build some twisted army for the Republican party. For what? Their motto is to better society? This is sick.
And wrong. And it's happening everywhere. The film takes place in our neighboring state, North Dakota. The separation of church and state has worked for a couple hundred years and it works. It's just disturbing.
I respect general Christianity. Being an Agnostic, this film just blew me away. It made me realize how far away I am from these beliefs. I have to agree with the film's radio d.j. If God did exist, "he has a place for those indoctrinating" this bull shit into young people - And it's not a pretty place.
