Review of Jesus Camp (2006) by David S — 16 Mar 2009
Ted Haggard: "It's just a fabulous life!".
The kids in Jesus Camp come off as cute and charismatic. The adults come off as desperate salespeople. It's a marketing war for kiddie souls. The movie doesn't focus on one of the most polished evangelical acts (nice PowerPoint presentation), but it nicely captures the passion, the zeal and the weirdness of it all. Ted Haggard's appearance is icing on the coffin. An essential historical document for a religious movement that is here to stay for a while.
