Review of Jesus Camp (2006) by Kim B — 01 Oct 2009
Pretty much what I expected to see. Nonetheless, it was worth learning about and interesting. Basically warning you about Chrisitian fanaticism by examplifiying how Evangelical Christians use children to try and manipulate others and fight against Islam fanaticism.
Which doesn't make any sense at all. Why would you fight religious extremism and intolerance with more religious extremism and intolerance? Makes me think that Evangelicals took the best and worst parts of Christianity and threw them together.
Which makes me understand where they are coming from, but also where they went wrong. Therefore, they seem ignorant, disrespectul to other religions or beliefs, all about condemnation, and they give Christianity a bad rap.
It also makes me think that Evangelicals parents are more concerned with looking good to others than and being pious than they are about being good parents by helping their kids fit in and not be completely guilt-ridden.
Home-schooling statistic was interesting.
