Review of Jesus Camp (2006) by Emmi H — 06 Apr 2010
It's always a good sign when a documentary makes me feel sick.
I could write an essay or two on the subject itself (what the hell are they building an army for? since when has religion been about winning?), but this isn't the place for that. This was a good documentary, telling its point without too much propagand-ish underlining. The material was effective enough on its own: I was genuinely shocked a few times just seeing the children's heavy reaction to the preaching. When have I ever seen kids cry hysterically over anything religious?
And Levi, seriously, that kid earned my respect being the most mature young boy I've ever seen. To be honest, I wasn't really scared of that army of children, I was scared for them. I'm scared to see what future holds for them.
