Review of Jesus Camp (2006) by Darryl K — 14 Nov 2010
"One nation, brainwashed under God..." Humans are one F'd-up animal. They have forgotten the big picture, that huge system that they are only a very tiny part of (nature). Whether you believe in God or not, this documentary brings up many great questions about extreme religious views (which is very relevant these days) and how mankind's psychological way of interpreting the world and what happens in it (God, Devil, Good, Evil, whatever you want to call it) can be extremely detached from reality.
Jesus Camp captures the image of what is wrong with organized religion today: it's not used for spirituality any more, but for other human's personal goals, to create"armies" of the young to defend what "the adults" consider to be "good.
" All the children in this film are wonderful, innocent, good kids. It's truly frightening to hear some of the things that come out of there mouths. It's also amazing to see how far from reality many humans are living their life, and how they accept fantasy to be fundamental truths.
And where do they get this from? From other people brainwashing them as children to do "their deeds." Don't get me wrong, spirituality is an important part of ever balanced human being. It's just for some, that balance is way out of whack.
